Ridware History Society project
In the area north of Lichfield between Rugeley, Kings Bromley and Yoxall in Staffordshire, RHS doesn't only stand for the Royal Horticultural Society, you will also find RHS introduces you to the Ridware History Society. With all the housing and rail developments nearby and so much land being repurposed, the work of those interested in local history is more and more relevant for people to learn about the significance of their area. Awareness of past events here (such as a visit by Jane Austen) is not lost and important buildings are recognised.
I was very happy to be asked to take photographs and produce a leaflet for the society to help spread awareness of the history of the 'three ancient parishes which lie between the rivers Blythe and Trent', Hamstall Ridware, Mavesyn Ridware and Pipe.
The leaflet has been printed and may also become available as a download on the Ridware Society's website, where you will find more information about the area, membership details and a programme of events ahead.
